Roddickton-Bide Arm Kids Summer Recreation Program and
Swimming Lessons

Registration will take place at the Green Moose Interpretation Centre for both on:
Thursday, July 2 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm

Kids Summer Recreation Program
Age: Children going to Kindergarten in September up to age of 12 years old.
Kindergarten children must be accompany by an adult.
Start Date: Tuesday, July 7
End Date: Friday, Aug 14
Cost: $ 20 per Child
Location: Gerry Byrne Room
Children will be involved in active activities held outside when possible.

Swimming Lessons (Space is limited, based on first registered)
The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm is please to offer Red Cross Swimming Lessons.
Lessons offered this summer:
Tots to Level 10 ($ 25 for first child and $ 15 for additional siblings plus
swimming pool fee of $3.00 per lesson attended.
Booklets of 8 tickets can be purchased at the pool for $20.00
which can be used in place of the $ 3.00 fee.)
Bronze Medallion ($150.00)
Bronze Cross ($150.00)
Bronze Cross and Medallion will be a weekend for each.
Tentative Start Date: Wednesday, July 8
Number of lessons: 8 to 12

Cost: All fees are non-refundable.

Moose Festival Cancellation

It is with reluctance that Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm announces the cancellation of the planned Moose Festival for this summer due to the lack of volunteers. The festival will be attempted again next year hopefully with many people coming forward to help.

List of Events:

• 11:00 am Parade
The parade will start at the Green Moose Interpretation Centre, stop at Roddickton House for the cake cutting and proceed to the playground.

1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for best decorated bike/stroller.
All children taking part will receive a gift certificate for a free ice cream.

• 12:00 Noon Ceremony at the Playground
There will be live local music, a visit from Jake of the Neverland Pirates, Olaf, Doc McStuffins and Smokey the Bear.

Join us for refreshments, hot dogs, face painting and games! The Recreation Committee will also be selling COTTON CANDY!

In the event of rain, celebrations will be held at the Arena.

PUBLIC NOTICE
RODDICKTON RESIDENTS ONLY (This do not apply to Bide Arm Residents)

Boil Order Advisory is still in effect.

Please be advised that effective immediately (June 11th, 2015) all residents are advised to boil water before consuming or brushing teeth.
The boil order advisory will remain IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE by the Town. Please boil water for at least 5 Min.

When this situation changes, it will be posted here, on the Town facebook page, Irving, James Randell and Sons, Pharmacy, Post office and Stop 2 Shop.

By-Election

PUBLIC NOTICE
NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES

MUNICIPALITY OF RODDICKTON-BIDE ARM

Nomination of candidates for a by-election of 2 Councillors for the Municipality of Roddickton-Bide Arm will be received between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm on Thursday, June 25th, 2015 at the Town Council Office/Green Moose Interpretation Center.
Nominations shall be in writing and state the name and civic address of the candidate and shall be signed by the Proposer and Seconder both of whom shall be present together with the candidate who shall sign also signifying his or her acceptance. In the event that a candidate cannot be present for his/her nomination, his/her proposer and seconder can complete the required form.
Every candidate for Election to the Council shall at the time of his or her nomination, deposit with the Returning Officer the non-refundable sum of ten dollars ($10.00) for towns/regions.
The qualifications of a candidate for election to council are as follows:
1. Canadian Citizen of the full age of eighteen years.
2. Resident of the municipality or area for at least 30 days immediately prior to the date set for the nomination period.
3. Not indebted to the Council for any arrears of taxes or other charges.
4. Not otherwise disqualifies under the Municipal Elections Act.
